About Me

My photo
A life in the skies. A life that is more than a little less ordinary. A life and career that transports me from city to country, but rarely to home. Along the way I get to live the dream, discovering a myriad of new and wonderful things. I love all things fine. Deluxe. Quite possibly ostentatious. But always with style. And I am zealous for life, love, people and friends and all the quirky nuances that all of that brings. Enjoy the ride!

Pledge of the Jetrosexual

Today is a pre-fly day. The recurring auto-pilot ritual that precedes a return to the skies and that requires the completion of key tasks such as diary to wardrobe synchronisation, toiletry inventory and the inevitable chore of packing. The real skill here is the ability to roam with the smallest suitcase possible but ensuring zero compormise to the post-packing tool-kit. I have this down to an art.

Coincidentally today I received a somewhat timely yet amusing email from a fellow time-traveller, ahead of another round of Airport Tetris, reminding me of the 11 commandments of the Modern Jetrosexual. An important mantra for all, whether business or pleasure. Enjoy.

11. Thou Shalt have thine passport ready to go at a moments notice.
10. Thou shalt cherish thine frequent flyer membership & strive to platinum status.
  9. Thou shalt not be a Chatty Cathy with thine seatmate.
  8. Thou shalt never hold up the security line (or queue trunkies or prams)
  7. Thou shalt be able to order a beer in six different languages
  6. Thou shalt respect the five minute rule when using thine lavatory.
  5. Thou shalt be able to pack a week's worth of clothes in a single carry-on bag.
  4. Thou shalt not own use inflatable neck pillows or flight socks, ever, unless onboard
  3. Thou shalt have at least one passport stamp from a country in every continent.
  2. Thou shalt travel Economy, on rare occasions, just to keep thine self humble.
  1. Thou shalt leave terra firma behind so to move business and culture forward.

'Til next time, Pandora x
